THE CAFE CATS

Denver Cat Company features adoptable cats sourced via our non-profit arm, Denver Cat Rescue. We save cats from high kill shelters in underfunded states and give them a shot to thrive in animal-loving Denver.

For more information on our kitties, check out the "cats" page or click the button below. You can also follow us on Instagram to keep up with their antics.

We have facilitated the adoptions of over 3,000 cats to date and regularly post their stories to our social media.

INSIDE THE CAT CAFE

The cat café interior is designed to be a lounge space for humans and a jungle gym for cats. There are walkways and hidey holes at ceiling level so the cats can feel safe and choose when they seek your attention. We adapted the build-out of our space based on Kate Benjamin's blueprints for how to design a cat café. Our cozy environment full of sweet kitties offers a fun twist on the coffee shop experience.

WHO WE ARE

Established in 2014, we are one of the first cat cafés to open in the US, pioneering this unique adoption model in North America. Denver Cat Company and its non-profit arm, Denver Cat Rescue, were founded by Pakistani-American attorney Leila Qari. We are proud of being a small independent business that is operated entirely by women.

Our mission is to raise the profile of cats and find them excellent homes. We also strive to provide our customers with a warm community space in which to meet each other and enjoy the company of cats.

Leila now spends most of her time handling rescue matters as the volunteer Executive Director of our rescue division, and pursuing a Master’s degree in mindfulness-based counseling at Boulder’s Naropa University. If you see her at the café during your visit, please say hello! And be sure to reserve time to explore the fantastic boutiques and shops on Denver's historic Tennyson Street.

WE ARE NOT ORGANIZED ENOUGH
TO PROPERLY SPAM YOU.

There are faint rumors of a newsletter. We are too busy scooping litter to know anything about it, but maybe you’ll hear from us occasionally if you sign up? No guarantees.
